Young North Norfolk swimmer Lily Herring impressed at Swim England's National Summer Championships in Sheffield.
The 15-year-old, who swims for the North Norfolk Vikings, qualified in sixth place in the multi-classification heats with a time of 1:19.38 in the 100m freestyle.
Although she was third to finish in the final with a time of 1:18.08, a complex Swim England permutation, based on a points tariff, meant her final placing was sixth.
Lily's coach, Sam Watts, said Lily had a bright future ahead of her.
Mr Watts said: “Lily is having an excellent year in the pool so far.
"Her application and tenacity has been exemplary and it's a just reward that she swam in the nationals.
"I believe that this is just the beginning of what is to come.”
In the 50m freestyle final, Lily finished fifth with a personal best time of 36:30.
She also took part in the 200m individual medley and 400m S10 freestyle, finishing fifth in the latter event.
