North Norfolk athlete Hattie Reynolds, 18, secured an impressive victory at the England Athletics Under 20s Track and Field Championships.
The City of Norwich AC runner won the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10 minutes, 31.83secs - less than two seconds off the qualifying time to compete for Great Britain in the European Under 20s Championships to be held in Jerusalem in early August.
To secure the qualifying time of 10min 30secs, she will be travelling to Cardiff at the weekend in an attempt to secure her place in the Great Britain team.
Also taking part was Henry Jonas, 18, from north Norfolk, who also runs for City of Norwich AC.
Mr Jonas took part in the 800m, finishing in fourth place with a time of 1min 52.36 secs.
Their success is all the more impressive given they don’t have an all-weather 400m track to train on - the majority of their training is carried out on the Sheringham Recreation Ground and Gresham’s School with the occasional Park Run included for good measure.
