Two young squash players who train at Rossi's in North Walsham took on others from across the region at an England Squash Challenger event.
Rossi’s juniors, Cameron Sumner and Ray Smith, travelled to Hunts County Squash Club in Huntingdon for the competition.
Cameron, in the Under-13s, took on opponents including some ranked in the top 30 in England.
In the first round he found himself up against the top seed and despite a spirited effort was on the wrong end of a 3-0 defeat.
In the second round, a tremendous battle ensued and Cam found himself with game balls to level the match at 2-2, but lost the match 3-1.
Clearly gaining confidence from the previous round Cam ended on a high, as he comfortably won his final match 3-0.
Ray, in the under-11s, was high on confidence after winning the latest Norfolk Junior Squash Grand Prix event.
This momentum was maintained as Ray beat his first opponent 3-0, putting the skills he had been developing in training into competitive competition.
Ray also won his second match 3-0 and brought the title back home to North Walsham.
