North Norfolk runner Hattie Reynolds placed second in a 5km cross-country in Diest, Belgium.
The 18-year-old runner was part of a dominant England team in the Lotto Cross Cup event on Sunday (February 12), which was won by Devon-based Innes Fitzgerald.
England teammates Olivia Martin and Sophie Nicholls filled the next two places.
It is hoped 11 young north Norfolk athletes will be selected to represent the county at the English Schools Cross Country Championships at Wollaton Park, Nottingham on March 18. They are juniors Eloise Edridge and Lottie Hood, intermediates Ava Mears, Rosie Dickety, Esme Jonas and Max Parsley, and seniors Martha Shawyer, Georgia Pegg, Abbi McCallum, Hattie Reynolds and Henry Jonas.
