North Norfolk-based athletes made their mark on Sunday in the Norfolk County Cross Country Championships held over a testing course in Earlham Park, Norwich.
Racing over 6km Hattie Reynolds (City 0f Norwich AC) preparing for her international début in two weeks was a comfortable winner when taking the Under 20 Ladies title.
Not to be outdone, clubmate Henry Jonas competing in the Under 20 Men's race contested over 10km romped home to score an impressive win.
Individual gold medal number three came when Georgia Pegg (City of Norwich AC) worked hard for her win in the Under 17 Girls 5km race.
Esme Jonas (North Norfolk Harriers) in the same race crossed the line in a pleasing third place.
For Under 15 Girl Rosie Dickety (North Norfolk Harriers) her race over 4.6km proved to be a tough call so on this occasion, she had to settle for second place.
On the plus side, the club team made of Rosie, Ava Mears (fifth) and Eloise Edridge (ninth) were delighted to take third place to secure the bronze medals.
Under 15 Boy Max Parsley (City of Norwich AC) competing over 4.6km paid the price for his fast early pace and was disappointed to finish in 4th position. However, his high-place finish help secure the team gold for the club.
The future looks bright for endurance running in North Norfolk with a pleasing 20-plus young athletes testing themselves and achieving success in the Cross Country Championships.
