Plans have been lodged to build 12 new homes in Norfolk's 'poshest village'.
Holkham Estate hopes to construct the properties off Creake Road in Burnham Market, promising to deliver a project that will "benefit the local community".
The development will include homes in a range of designs and styles, with 20% to be allocated as affordable homes.
James Bracey, general manager for land and property at Holkham, said: "Our aim is to deliver high-quality new homes that will benefit the local community now and for generations to come.
"Quality, craftsmanship and sustainability will be at the heart of our designs."
A mixture of two, three and four-bedroom homes are proposed, including bungalows, and terraced, semi-detached and detached properties.
Burnham Market is one of the most expensive places to buy a home in Norfolk, with an average price of £996,012 in 2022.
It has been dubbed 'Chelsea-on-Sea' and is a sought-after area for people looking for a coastal home.
Mr Bracy added: "We believe the homes will help answer the current housing need throughout the district and in Burnham Market.
"Despite it being a relatively small development, we want to offer a variety of ways to live in Burnham Market, helping to support the growing community.
"As such, we plan to retain some of the properties and make them available to rent privately, helping to address the shortfall of rental homes in the district."
A spokeswoman for Holkham Estate has confirmed the properties retained to rent will be aimed at people living and working locally and are not planned to be used as holiday lets.
The footpath on Beacon Hill Road will also be extended as part of the plans in order to provide safe pedestrian access to the site.
Efforts will also be made to protect existing hedgerows and encourage local habitats and wildlife to flourish, according to the developers.
People are being encouraged to have their say on the development and can do so by completing an online form via holkham.co.uk/planning before Saturday, January 21.
A planning application will be submitted in spring 2023 and if approved, work could start on new homes before the end of the year.
