A die-hard Wrexham supporter travelled more than 250 miles to cheer on Wroxham after their mockumentary was 'accidentally' advertised in the city.
Wroxham FC went viral earlier this month after they released a tongue-in-cheek mockumentary called Welcome to Wroxham with the help of new club sponsor Riot Labs.
After plastering the Welsh city with advertising posters, the trailer has already racked up more than 330,000 views on social media, with fans calling for a mid-season friendly – dubbed the “vowel derby.”
Wrexham AFC was famously taken over by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in 2020, and their television series - Welcome to Wrexham - was released the next year documenting their journey as new club owners.
After watching the Wroxham drama unfold, Wrexham fan Jim Gregson decided to tie in a business trip with a 259-mile journey from North Wales to watch the Yachtsmen play at Trafford Park on Tuesday.

The 55-year-old proudly wore his red Wrexham shirt as he cheered on the club in their 2-2 draw with Felixstowe & Walton United in freezing conditions.
Mr Gregson said: “I was so moved by their story of potentially missing out on Hollywood funding by just one letter I thought they could do with a bit of support from Wrexham."
He hit the clubhouse bar and began buying rounds for stunned locals, joining in chants and even cheering on Wroxham’s Calum Samuels, who he called “awesome”.
He commented on a Wrexham fan chat alongside a string of pictures of himself at the game: “Only here for Wroxham FC – The Yachtsmen!
"The ultras didn’t stop singing, the club chairman was brilliant, and the locals made me feel right at home. What a night!
“Ryan Reynolds, if you’re reading this, the Yachtsmen are waiting – and they’ve got scarves ready for you."
As a parting gift, the club presented Mr Gregson with a free scarf.
