A former Norfolk boxer has admitted producing a kilogram of cannabis in order to supply it.
Michael Walsh, a former professional featherweight boxer who won all of his 14 bouts, had been charged with being concerned in the supply of a drug of class B with intent as well as converting criminal property, namely £32k in cash.
The offences, said to have happened between January 2018 and September 2021, were both admitted by Walsh when he appeared at Norwich Crown Court on Thursday.
The defendant, from Norwich Road, Corpusty, in north Norfolk, had previously admitted producing a controlled drug of class B, namely cannabis.
Judge Alice Robinson adjourned sentencing until January.
Walsh, who was represented by John Morgans, is the oldest of three well-known boxing brothers.
His younger siblings are Liam and Ryan Walsh.
In November 2021 he was fined £200 after he was found guilty of failing to comply with a reasonable direction to disperse from an area.
It was while he was exercising in Chapelfield Gardens in November 2020, when the country was in a national lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Walsh was seen running by police and despite being issued with a direction to leave "carried on jogging around".
In November 2022 he was convicted of keeping a female Savannah cat without a licence.
He failed to appear at Great Yarmouth Magistrates Court but was found guilty in his absence of offences under the dangerous wild animal act.
Walsh was granted conditional bail until January.
