Large fast food chains opening up in historic seaside towns has been a much-discussed issue on the North Norfolk coast, with plans for a Domino's in Sheringham being refused earlier this month as district councillors vowed to protect its conservation area.
However, the proposal for a Greggs in Cromer was supported by the economic development officer for North Norfolk District Council, who said that the outlet for the town would boost the local economy and create new jobs.
And in Breckland plans for a new Greggs in Swaffham have sparked a wave of opposition from locals.
The Cromer new store will create eight new jobs.
Opening hours for the shop will be 6am-6pm on Monday to Saturday and 7am-4pm on Sundays.
