A care home resident died after falling and hitting his head on a wardrobe, a court has heard.
David Allen died on September 5 following the incident at The Rookery Care Home in Walcott, where he was a resident.
An inquest into his death opened at Norfolk Coroner's Court and heard that the 73-year-old had fallen in the home based in north Norfolk, and had hit his head on a wardrobe.
He suffered traumatic injuries as a result of the fall and the emergency services were called.
Assistant coroner Christopher Leach said: "While he was waiting for an ambulance his health deteriorated and he went into respiratory and cardiac arrest."
Mr Allen, who was born in Great Yarmouth, died shortly after.
Mr Leach said his medical cause of death had been multiple traumatic injuries as a result of a fall. Leukaemia was also listed as a contributing factor in his death.
Mr Leach adjourned the inquest until May next year.
