A golf course has been given the green light by a council to upgrade its facilities.

The plans, lodged with North Norfolk District Council, propose building a new kiosk at Beeston Hills Putting Green on Cliff Road, Sheringham.

The green's temporary kiosk will be replaced with a new building that would act as a sales point for the putting green and café, and house an accessible toilet.

A new outdoor seating area has also been proposed for the space.

The new kiosk would have a 'groyne style backdrop' styled with a wave effect constructed from recycled timbers of former sea defences.

The plans were lodged by Sheringham Town Council which bought Beeston Hills Putting Green from North Norfolk District Council for £15,000 last year.

The town council said the sale would “protect the land as a putting green for generations to come”.
