A Norfolk council has won an award for its efforts in reuniting stray dogs with their owners.
North Norfolk District Council (NNDC) received a Gold RSPCA Pawprint Award.
The scheme rewards local authorities and organisations for their efforts in delivering the best animal welfare services.
The council's stray dog service is delivered by the Animal Warden Services.
NNDC was also one of 13 organisations across England and Wales to win a gold award in the RSPCA’s new category for the provision of kenneling services.
Mike Gardiner, dog warden at Animal Warden Services said: “We are totally thrilled by these awards and very proud of the whole team. We remain committed to enhancing the welfare of all animals."
Emily Capps, assistant director for environmental and leisure services said: “A dog is part of the family, so losing your dog is a very stressful experience.
“We are pleased that, working with organisations like Animal Warden Services, lost or stray dogs, will receive a high standard of care during their time until they are reunited, or rehomed.”
