For more than 100 years, the Bittern Line has connected Norwich to Cromer and Sheringham by rail and there are plenty of pub pitstops along the way.
1. Pogue Mahon's, Norwich Station

This four-floor Irish pub is packed with character and hosts regular live music events.
It serves a hearty menu, with roasts available on Sundays, and you can wash it down with a Guinness or the tipple of your choice.

2. The Kings Head, Hoveton & Wroxham Station
Where: Station Road, Hoveton, NR12 8UR
The big draw to this Norfolk Broads pub, which underwent a £1.4m revamp earlier this year, is its spacious beer garden on the bank of the River Bure.
You can make a weekend of it as there are eight bedrooms on the premises.
3. The Suffield Arms, Gunton Station
Where: Station Road, Thorpe Market, NR11 8UE
Located opposite Gunton Station, the ground floor of The Suffield Arms features a traditional bar area that goes through to a modern restaurant serving a tapas menu.
Upstairs is the plush Saloon Bar, where you can unwind and enjoy a range of cocktails.

4. The Red Lion, Cromer Station
Where: Brook Street, Cromer, NR27 9HD
The Red Lion, which is also a hotel, overlooks Cromer's famous pier and the drink selection includes a range of wines and 12 local real ales.
It is worth stopping for a meal as it holds an AA Rosette for culinary excellence.
5. The Lines End, Sheringham Station
Where: 8 Station Approach, Sheringham, NR26 8RA
The Lines End opened in the former home of The Quarter Deck Bottle Shop and Kitchen at the start of August.
On offer are real ales, craft kegs, bottled and canned beers, wines and spirits.
It is located a stone's throw away from the mainline station and opposite the North Norfolk Railway.
