A clifftop ceremony was held at a church to celebrate Merchant Navy day.
All Saints Church at Beeston Regis, also known as the church on the cliffs, raised the Red Ensign, the flag of the British Merchant Navy, in a special ceremony on September 1.
The event was conducted by Rev Canon Thomas Woodhouse, Chaplain of The King's Chapel at the Duchy of Lancaster.
The flag-raising served as a tribute to the brave men and women who have kept Britain afloat in times of peace and war.

Merchant Navy Day became an official commemoration on September 3, 2000, recognising the sacrifices made during the World Wars by the dedicated members of the Merchant Navy.
This year's ceremony was particularly special as members of the RNLI Sheringham Team were among the attendees in celebration of their 200th anniversary.
The RNLI flag was similarly raised alongside the Red Ensign.
Four Merchant Navy men were specifically remembered: Walter Ernest Oxenham, Louis William ‘Billy’ Knowles, Terry Edward Gillespy, and Richard John Meikle.
