A much-missed teenager who was known for his smile and sense of humour will be remembered at a special rugby match.

The game will commemorate Henry Hill, from Marsham, who died in February 2022 from a rare form of cancer. He was 18-years-old.

In the two years since his death, family and friends have organised events to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust and Ward C9 at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, where he received valuable support and treatment.

So far, they have raised more than £14,000.

And now Holt Rugby Club, where Henry played for six years, are organising a memorial match on Saturday, August 24 at 3.30pm.

Organised by Angus Hepworth-Smith and Harry Yarbo, the match will take place at the club’s Bridge Street grounds.

Lisa Hill, Henry's mum, said: "For us as a family it's lovely that the lads still want to do this. It means a lot to us that they still think that much of him, and of us."

Henry joined the club when he was 13-years-old and "absolutely loved it".

"We were made to feel very much part of the club, which was lovely. Everyone there is so welcoming," Ms Hill said.

Henry’s family moved up from Essex in 2009.

He attended Hainford Primary Partnership School, Aylsham High School - where he was a house captain - and then went on to study for his A-Levels at Paston College in North Walsham.

In July 2020, Henry was diagnosed with an incurable form of cancer called fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma which affects less than 20 people in the world per year.

He was treated at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital and Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.
