Jazz group Shear Brass is set to pay tribute to well-known British jazz pianist, Sir George Shearing, with a special show at Holt's Auden Theatre.
The line-up includes some of Britain's top jazz talents, among them, James Pearson, Pete Long, Alec Dankworth, and Sarah Moule.
The show is at 7.30pm on September 11.
Led by Sir George's great-nephew, Carl Gorham, the band is committed to delivering new arrangements of Sir George's music.
The show combines music with family history to tell the extraordinary story of how Sir George, born blind and the youngest of nine, started off as a pub pianist in South London in the 1930s.

He rose to become an international jazz star, recording best-selling albums with Peggy Lee, Nat King Cole and his own quintet, as well as writing tunes such as Lullaby of Birdland, which has been recorded by artists such as Amy Winehouse and Mariah Carey.
He also played at the White House for three different US Presidents, was knighted and even written about in Jack Kerouac’s seminal sixties novel On the Road.
