A rare set of records listing the final resting places of the fallen heroes of the First World War has sold for thousands at an auction in Norfolk.
The Imperial War Graves Commission index is a set of 64 volumes listing the graves and memorials of British, Australian, Canadian and South African soldiers and sailors who lost their lives during The Great War from 1914 to 1918.
The list of around one million names went under the hammer in Aylsham last week and sold for £2,100.
It is one of only two copies of the document in existence - originally owned by the Imperial War Museum, which sold them in 2016 following a programme to digitise the records.
The only other copy is owned by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.
