A Norfolk MP is hosting a webinar on the upcoming changes to telephone landlines.
Between now and 2025, most UK phone companies will be switching customers from traditional analogue landlines to digital technology known as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), which requires broadband connection.
On Monday, March 18, North Norfolk MP Duncan Baker and a panel of industry experts will be providing local parish councils and community groups with further information on the changes as part of the Digital Switchover.
There will be a dedicated question and answer session to help alleviate any concerns triggered by the changes.
The webinar will also be livestreamed on the MP’s Facebook page, where residents can ask any questions about the switchover.
Mr Baker said: “My constituency of north Norfolk has the oldest average demographic nationally. This means we need to ensure that when major changes come forward, such as the Digital Switchover, information is accessible publicly and promptly.
“This is exactly why I am organising this webinar and livestream - to ensure people are as informed as possible about this change.
"By disseminating information through the parish councils, we hope to reach as many people who will be affected by this change as possible.
“The livestream, through my Facebook page, will also allow concerned residents to listen in and learn more about how the change will affect them.
“I want to make sure that my constituents feel confident and supported with these changes."

Phone providers will be contacting customers about the change and for most people the switch will only involve plugging their landline phone into a broadband router instead of a wall-mounted socket.
For customers who don’t own a broadband router, their phone providers will still be able to set them up on the new landline.
