Barclays has delayed the closure of one of its branches in a Norfolk town.
The bank was due to close its Sheringham High Street branch today (February 21) - but has now announced it will stay open until a new banking service is in place in the town.
Barclays made the decision to close the branch because of fewer customers using the in-person service.
It comes as Barclays closed 157 branches across the UK last year and is set to shut at least another 77 throughout 2024 and 2025.
The Sheringham High Street branch will not close until a deposit service is in place.

This has been recommended by LINK – the UK’s cash machine network.
Cash Access UK will be leading on the implementation of the deposit service.
A Barclays spokesperson said: "An enhanced deposit service is not yet in place in Sheringham.
"Therefore, the branch will not be closing on 21 February 2024.
"It will remain open until the deposit service is live in the community."
