A Norfolk MP will take on his most gruelling charity challenge yet when he attempts to run two full marathons just seven days apart.
North Norfolk MP Duncan Baker is hoping to raise thousands of pounds for 52 local charities – one for every mile of his double marathon challenge.
To date, Mr Baker has raised more than £87,000 for good causes across Norfolk, running the London Marathon in 2021 and again the following year.
North Norfolk-based charities and community groups can apply to receive a share of the total amount of money raised by emailing Mr Baker at duncan@duncanbaker.org.uk, or by filling out an online nomination form on the MP’s website: www.duncanbaker.org.uk.
They will then be entered into a draw to decide the 52 charities to receive a share of the money the raised.
"Physically, this is going to be the hardest challenge I've undertaken to date,” Mr Baker said.
“Running two full marathons, 52 miles, just seven days apart will certainly be tough. I’m not the spring chicken I used to be.

“What will get me through each and every step is knowing that the money is going to fund amazing small charities that undertake vital work across the constituency.
“It's my way of trying to support the brilliant men and women who do so much for the people I represent.
“My goal is clear: to break the £100,000 mark for local north Norfolk charities, which will be the accumulation of money raised since my first marathon in 2021.
"Both times I've done this in the past I've been absolutely blown away by the generosity of the people of north Norfolk - it's heartening to see.
"To even be in a position to try and break £100,000 is an incredible thing - thank you so much to all who support me in my charity work."
