We asked our social media followers where they think the poshest places in the county are and north Norfolk towns and villages dominated the comments. 

These were the most popular suggestions from locals on our Facebook post.

1. Holt 

Holt, known for its abundance of Georgian buildings and boutiques, was suggested a whopping 29 times.

It is home to the prestigious private school Gresham's, with famous alumni including Olivia Colman and James Dyson.

Byfords in the town centre, which also boasts a café and store, is marketed as a "posh B&B" with 16 luxury bedrooms.

2. Burnham Market 

Burnham Market, nicknamed Chelsea-on-Sea, is a hotspot for second-home owners and, according to Rightmove, the average house price is £786,733.

It has several high-end restaurants and the centre of the village wouldn't look out of place in the Cotswolds.

3. Norwich 

Newmarket Road and Cathedral Close were pinpointed as being particularly posh, which are home to the private schools Norwich High School for Girls and Norwich School respectively. 

The Golden Triangle is also an affluent area of the city, with the NR2 postcode highly sought after by potential renters and buyers.

4. Overstrand

Just a stone's throw from Cromer, Overstrand was known as "the village of millionaires" in the Victorian and Edwardian eras due to the high demand for holiday homes.

Today, it is still a highly sought-after destination and it features several properties designed by famous architect Sir Edwin Lutyens.

5. Thornham 

Another spot on the Norfolk coast to feature, Thornham is a picture-perfect village with house prices to match. 

According to Rightmove, the average house price in Thornham is an eye-watering £888,500.

6. Blakeney 

Going east along the coast to Blakeney, house prices are also high with an average price of £700,019.

It boasts a National Trust nature reserve, which is home to England's largest grey seal colony.

7. Sandringham

Sandringham is home to a royal residence, estimated to be worth around £55m, and you can't get much posher than that.

Many of the nearby villages are also affluent, with gastropubs and high-end hotels that attract holidaymakers from far and wide.
