Recent rainstorms have forced the postponement of an annual ploughing event aiming to raise money for a Norfolk cancer charity.
The traditional ploughing skills of classic and vintage tractor drivers were due to be put to the test at the Norfolk Ploughing Society’s New Year Charity Fun Plough Day on Sunday, January 7.
But after a deluge of rainfall, the ground conditions at Quebec Farm in Cawston, near Reepham, were too wet for heavy machinery, so the event has been postponed until January 21.
Around 70 ploughmen and women are expected to take part, aiming to create the most neatly-ploughed plot, without the help of the hi-tech satellite guidance used in modern tractors.
Proceeds will be donated to Wymondham-based cancer support charity Star Throwers.
Ploughing starts at 10am, entry will be free for spectators, and there will be donation buckets for those wishing to donate to the charity.
