The wintry waters of the North Sea will provide a bracing start to the New Year as a popular seaside dip returns.
The Sheringham New Year’s Day Dip is to be held for the first time in two years, after it had to be cancelled in 2023 due to legal requirements.
The coming event will be run by the Sheringham & Cromer Roundtable for the first time, and participants are encouraged to wear fancy dress.
Will Moy, Roundtable chairman, said: "We are absolutely delighted that the New Year's Day Dip is back this year.
“Previously a regular in the calendar, we hope that this will return to being an event both local people and visitors alike look forward to.”
Those taking part are encouraged to arrive at midday for a parade of fancy dress at 12.15pm. The dip will take place at 12.30pm at the East Promenade.
Donations will be collected, half of which will be given to the RNLI, whose Sheringham crew previously organised the dip.
