A Norfolk art gallery is closing after 15 years due to the cost-of-living crisis.
Gallery Plus in Wells-next-the-Sea will close in February next year after falling victim to the rising cost of living.
Owners couple Trevor and Jo Woods opened the gallery in 2009, but now say keeping their small business going has become “unviable” because of increasing overheads and a drop in sales.
“After 15 wonderful years, it is with heavy hearts that we inform you of our intention to close Gallery Plus in 2024,” the owners said in a joint statement.
“We are hugely grateful to every one of you for your support over the last 15 years. We feel privileged and humbled to have been able to do something we both love for so long.
“All we ask now is for your support and maybe spending a few last pennies with us while we slowly close down ready to move into our new future.”

The Warham Road gallery will continue trading until February, remaining open Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 4pm.
“We are selling off the stock we own between now and then and we have reduced prices across the board - so it’s a great time to grab a bargain, particularly with Christmas just around the corner,” the owners said.

“We will continue to take framing orders in for the next month or so and will ensure we allow enough time for them to be completed and collected before we close.
“We have reduced our prices here too, so if there’s something you’ve been meaning to get framed now is a good time to bring it in.
“We are also selling off a great selection of surplus picture frames in various sizes at extremely reasonable prices.
“After 20 years of putting paint-to-paper Trevor will be taking some time away from his easel, so if there are any of his paintings you've had your eye on make sure you don't miss out.”
