Car parks at two popular north Norfolk woodland walking spots are being closed due to forecasted storms.
North Norfolk District Council’s (NNDC) countryside rangers will shut Holt Country Park and Pretty Corner Woods in Sheringham from 4pm today (Thursday, October 19) as Storm Babet is set to sweep through the county.
The Met Office is forecasting strong wind and rain from midday on Friday (October 20) and has issued a yellow weather warning for Norfolk.

The council has said that both car parks will remain closed until the weather has passed and its rangers have had time to assess and damage caused by the storm or risks in the woods.
The local authority is advising people to avoid any woodland areas during the strong winds and weather warning.
Storms caused extensive damage to Holt Country Park and Pretty Corner Woods in October 2020, which led to a prolonged closure while rangers cleared debris and ensured it was safe for the public.
NNDC will confirm when the car parks are re-opening.
