An Indian restaurant in north Norfolk has won a TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice award.
Masala Twist, in Prince of Wales Road, Cromer, has won the prestigious award for consistently receiving excellent reviews from customers on TripAdvisor – earning a place in the top 10pc of businesses listed on the online travel review website.
The restaurant’s owners, couple Jay and Kelly Ali, said they were “over the moon” to pick up the award.
“We were elated and so overwhelmed that we actually got quite emotional,” Mrs Ali said.

The couple took over the restaurant in November 2021 and said they have “worked extremely hard” ever since - going “above and beyond” to get the award-winning restaurant to where it is today.
“When people leave and say they’ve had a fantastic evening we feel privileged that we’ve been able to provide that,” Mrs Ali said.
“All of the local people who swore ten years ago that they would never step foot in the restaurant again have come back.
“We’ve got a chef - Amin Shyaf – who is passionate about his food and the restaurant. Everything is made in house and made fresh from the pan as ordered.”

Mr Ali, who is of Bengali heritage, and his wife and co-owner of the restaurant, Mrs Ali, from London, moved to Norfolk together in 2021.
They kept the name of the restaurant, Masala Twist, when they took over.
