Mountain Warehouse has announced it has “no current plans” to close one of its Cromer stores, despite recently opening a new one just yards away on the same street.

The high street retailer, which specialises in outdoor adventure clothing, equipment and footwear, opened a new store in Church Street on August 6 - moving into the formerly vacant M&Co unit.

The two Mountain Warehouse stores are only separated by one unit - a Lloyds Pharmacy - but the retailer has said the old one will remain open, with no current plans in place to close it.

A Mountain Warehouse spokesman said: “We can confirm the Church Street store is now open, and we have no current plans to close our second store in Cromer.

“Our new store has over 5,400 square feet of space for customers to discover our new collections.”

The new store features an Animal clothing section, which was bought by Mountain Warehouse back in 2021.

Tim Adams, leader of North Norfolk District Council (NNDC), previously said the move was an "immense vote of confidence" in the town from the retailer.
