The Cromer Carnival has returned for another year of pomp and pageantry.
The crowning of carnival queen, Yasmine Macklin-Page, set the tone for the week ahead as events got under way this afternoon.
Town crier Mark Northway extended a warm welcome to one and all at Cromer Pier - with a special welcome to the sunshine, which beamed down on carnival-goers at the pier.
The mayor of Cromer, Emma Spagnola, applauded the turnout and wished for a wonderful week of summertime celebrations and events.

Sunday’s carnival lineup included the Cromer beer and cider festival and a car show - featuring classic, custom and American cars - alongside a cavalcade of bikes and trikes.
The carnival fun show saw rosettes awarded to the horses best in show, before the main event of the day: the crowning of Miss Cromer 2023.

Standard bearers from Norfolk’s Royal British Legion escorted carnival queen Yasmine as she arrived at the pier in a convoy of cars.
The afternoon events that followed included live music from local band Tom, Dick & Harry, the annual bonny baby competition and the knobbly knees contest.
The day also saw the return of carnival favourites the glamorous grandmother competition and children's fancy dress contest.
The evening entertainment brings live wrestling to the carnival's main marquee and a cheese and wine tasting event at the hospitality tent.
Tim Adams, leader of North Norfolk District Council (NNDC) and Cromer councillor, said: "There are around 200 carnival volunteers who make this happen, and so this week is the culmination of a huge effort by our community.
"The last two weeks of children's events have been so successful and well received this year, and we're really looking forward to the week ahead and numerous events."
A packed week of events continues until the carnival comes to a close on Friday (August 18), with the traditional parade on Wednesday evening and a grand firework display planned for Thursday night.
