A kebab shop in Aylsham has received a one-out-of-five food hygiene rating.
Best Kebab and Pizza House in Cawston Road was issued a one-out-of-five rating by the Food Standards Agency after an inspection on June 27 this year.
The recently-published report stated ‘major improvement’ is required for the takeaway's management of food safety.

The inspection report states this relates to the systems and checks in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, evidence that staff know about food safety, and that food safety officers have confidence that standards will be maintained in the future.
Both the takeaways ‘hygienic food handling’ and ‘cleanliness and condition of facilities and building’, which are the two other areas of inspection, were deemed to be ‘generally satisfactory’.

However, owners of Best Kebab and Pizza House told this newspaper that the main reason for its low food hygiene score was an issue with a glass window at the front of the takeaway.
They said the window has now been replaced and they have applied for a re-inspection.
