This year’s Cromer Lifeboat Day has been called off due to adverse weather conditions being forecast in the aftermath of a storm.
The annual event, which was supposed to take place this Sunday (August 6), has been cancelled as Storm Antoni is set to hit north Norfolk this weekend.
The Met Office-named storm is set to sweep across the country from late Friday night and into Saturday, bringing strong winds and heavy rain.

“We are sorry to announce that our annual Lifeboat Day planned for this Sunday August 6 is cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions forecast for this weekend,” Cromer RNLI said in a post on Facebook.
“We hope to see you all next year.”
The Met Office has said Storm Antoni will cause high tides in coastal areas.
Rain is being forecast in Cromer throughout Saturday, with rain and strong winds nearing 40mph expected on Sunday morning.
