A clubhouse and restaurant at a north Norfolk holiday park which was hit with a zero-out-of-five food hygiene rating last month has received an upgraded rating after a reinspection.

Broadside Clubhouse and Restaurant, at the Broadside Chalet Park in Stalham, has drastically improved across all areas of the Food Standards Agency’s inspection criteria, securing a five-star food hygiene rating - the highest score available.

The areas of inspection include the hygienic handling of food, cleanliness and condition of facilities and buildings, and the overall management of food safety.

Broadside Clubhouse’s reinspection at the end of last month was a significant improvement on its previous inspection in June this year, which had concluded that it required ‘urgent improvement’.

A spokesman from Broadside Clubhouse said they were 'pleased' to announce the updated food hygiene rating in a post on its Facebook page, congratulating the team.

The owners previously said on social media that the premises was closed due to building work as part of a cellar refit when inspectors visited in June - which was behind the zero rating.
