A highly-anticipated summer garden party which had been planned to take place at ‘Norfolk’s best pub’ has now been called off.
The King’s Head in Letheringsett had planned to host the family-friendly event from 5pm today (Friday, July 14) to midday tomorrow.
But the pub has now announced the party will not go ahead due to the weather forecast for “unseasonably high winds” across Norfolk.
The pub said: “Unfortunately due to the terrible weather forecast we are having to postpone our garden party.
“Don’t worry, we will be rescheduled at a later date when the sun is shining.
“You can still come and join us for a drink and some delicious food in our bar away from the wind and rain.”
The Met Office warning, which is in place most of Saturday, comes ahead of the weekend as an area of low pressure is set to create strong wind conditions for much of the county.
Gusts of wind will likely hit 55mph on Saturday, causing travel disruption and damage to temporary structures such as marquees and tents.
The Kings Head was announced as the county winner for the National Pub and Bar Awards 2023 in April.
