The owner of a picturesque waterfall meadow in Norfolk has threatened to close the site after it has become overrun by “irresponsible” visitors on the back of a TripAdvisor review.
Landowner John Carrick said the site located just outside Swanton Morley on the River Wensum is being disrespected by hordes of visitors who have been flocking to the waterfall after a five-star review was posted on TripAdvisor.

His threats to close off the popular spot comes after people have been lighting bonfires and barbeques, partying with loud music, and leaving litter.
“The small meadow is one of the most beautiful places to visit on the whole length of the River Wensum,” Mr Carrick said in a statement on the Swanton Morley Parish Council Facebook page.
“With its waterfall, constant birdsong and peaceful setting, it has been a favourite destination for locals and visitors alike for generations.
“As the owner of this very special place, it has been my pleasure to maintain the area so visitors can enjoy their stay, appreciate nature, teach their children to swim, spend a few hours fishing, or just chill out – all at no cost to themselves.
“I am extremely distressed at the prospect that this very happy arrangement may have to cease.
“The problem, quite simply, is that the site has become so popular that it is no longer possible to manage the volume of visitors, some of whom, regrettably, are thoroughly irresponsible.
“The situation might be manageable if all visitors were respectful on the site and were mindful of the interests of nearby residents.”

Mr Carrick has set a series of rules for the site, which includes no fires, barbeques, music or camping.
Visitors have been told not to park near the three homes on Worthing Road and must vacate the site by 8pm.
The landowner has said he will monitor the site for the next two weeks but will be forced to close it for the remainder of the summer if the rules are not followed.
