A north Norfolk cheesemaker has praised her team for her latest award-winning cheese, as she looks to pass the baton to the next generation of cheese connoisseurs.
Catherine Temple, owner of Mrs Temple’s Cheese in Wighton, near Wells-next-the-Sea, has been a cheesemaker for more than 20 years.
Now her Copys Cloud, Gurney Gold and Wighton varieties have all been awarded silver medals at the Artisan Cheese Awards - with her Binham Blue picking up bronze.
It comes a week after the Wighton won best in class for fresh cheese at the Virtual Cheese Awards.

However, this year Mrs Temple let her team take the wheel – and their cheesemaking skills steered Mrs Temple’s Cheese to success.
“This year I stood back and let my team make the cheese and select the cheeses for submission,” she said.
“I wanted them to realise that they can do the job without me and make great cheese.
“This string of awards from multiple judges for multiple products confirms their acquisition of skills.
“I hope they can be as confident in and as proud of themselves as I am of them.”
Mrs Temple’s team of cheesemakers are assistant manager Paul Adams, Andrew Chubbock, Andrew McNaughton, Tracy Steeper and Lesley Harris.
Mrs Temple said the secret to their success is feeding their cows on the farm high-quality Norfolk food, with everything they produce being “traceable from food to fork”.

“It’s all about the work of our staff, the way we care for our cows and how we feed them,” Mrs Temple added.
“My husband and I are now 74 and 64 and have been trying to retire, leaving a team of competent staff to continue for several years.
“We want the business to continue to supply excellent cheese, but have a little more time to pursue our research and other projects.”
