Plans for a so-called Art Deco apartment hotel by the north Norfolk coast have just got boost.
Planning officers at North Norfolk District Council have said the bid by Morston Palatine Ltd to put up a 37-suite next to the Reef leisure centre in Sheringham should go ahead.
It will now be up to councillors on NNDC’s development committee to decide whether the hotel gets the thumbs up or down.

The officers’ recommendation says: “This application is considered to be acceptable in principle, and would not result in any harmful effects on the character and appearance of the surrounding landscape, the Norfolk Coast AONB (Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and the setting of Sheringham Park.
"There would be no negative impacts in terms of amenity.
“The layout of the site provides appropriate parking provision and the location is close
to public transport links.

“The biodiversity of the site can be enhanced through measures to be secured through conditions.”
The statement goes onto say there would be economic benefits during and after the construction - as the hotel would add to the district’s tourism offering - and would provide “some additional employment”.

Plans show the apartments would have their own kitchens, and some would have balconies.
There would be a small bar on the ground floor.
The application says the building would “imbue a vision of quality seaside accommodation, with influences taken from the Art Deco period of 1920s and 30s.”
Art Deco, which originated in France, champions design features including symmetry, aerodynamic curves and layered shapes.
The development committee will consider the application on Thursday (May 25).
