Almost 300 people came together at a fair designed to strengthen community links in Sheringham.
The event at Lighthouse Community Church, called Sheringham Helps, drew dozens of groups eager to spread the word about the services and activities they offer, ranging from knitting for fun to saving hedgehogs.
Liz Withington, from Healthier Sheringham, which organised the day, said: “The Sheringham Helps event showed what incredible resources we do have already and helped people to collaborate together to make our community support stronger.”
Anneliese Maerz, who is from Age Concern North Norfolk and is part of the Healthier Sheringham steering group, added: “Events such as Sheringham Helps are so important in helping the community to understand what is available locally to support them and it helps professionals and volunteers in social and activity groups to understand where help may be available for people they engage with.
“This helps to take the strain off carers and families looking after their loved ones but also means people can continue to be independent and stay within their community for longer.”
