The date of north Norfolk's Mammoth Marathon has been moved forward a week.

The race, which starts at Sea Palling and ends in Sheringham, was to be held on Sunday, May 21, but will now be held on Sunday, May 14 instead.

North Norfolk District Council, which is putting on the race in partnership with the North Norfolk Beach Runners, said the change was so the marathon would not clash with another event, the Norwich 100, a 100-mile cycle, which goes through the area on May 21.

There will also be a half marathon, which will set off from Mundesley.

There are still hundreds of entry tickets available for both runs, visit raceroster.com to book.

The Mammoth Marathon had been planned since 2019, but the coronavirus pandemic meant the inaugural event did not take place until 2022.

The race was the county’s first full road marathon since the original Norfolk Marathon came to an end in 1990.
