A north Norfolk church congregation has donated more than 50 gifts to be distributed to local children who have a parent or loved one in prison.
The group at Aylsham Parish Church also raised £100 which will be used to purchase more presents for the children through the prisoner’s family services at east of England charity, Ormiston Families.
The annual Gift Giving Service is organised by Angela Quinn, a loyal supporter of the church and Ormiston Families’ cause.
The gifts were received by Naomi Webb, cluster manager at Ormiston Families, at a service held by Reverend Andy Windross.
Ms Webb said: “We are so very grateful to the congregation of Aylsham Parish Church for their generosity towards the children of prisoners at HMP Norwich.
“Every year, we receive a number of presents which we then distribute to children visiting the prison during the festive period.
“This year has shown just the same generosity as those preceding it.
"The presents make a big difference to each child, showing them that others are thinking of them as they go through a particularly difficult period coping with having a parent in custody over Christmas.”
