There is still plenty to play for after the weekend fixtures in the Slater & Frith Division One, with current leaders Coltishall returning home from Corpusty with maximum points following their odd goal win of three.
They should have completed their fixtures with a midweek home game against East Ruston and should they claim all three points, nearest rivals Gimingham, following their 9-1 thrashing of almost relegated Worstead, will need to win their final game against Lyng if they are to retain their title, so they still have a bit to do yet. Runton inflicted East Ruston’s second home defeat of the season winning by a 4-0 margin. Down the road at Haisboro Athletic it was the visitors North Walsham ‘A’ who took the points with a 3-1 success.
The top two sides in the Wayford Nurseries Division Two met at Holt, where the ‘A’ side took on Mundesley and it was the champions Mundesley who took the honours by a 4-1 scoreline. Aylsham ‘A’, should they win their remaining three games, following their 8-0 thumping of Gimingham Reserves could still pip Holt for second place on goal difference. A solitary goal was enough for Cawston to claim the points at Aldborough Lion Reserves.
With Worstead Reserves losing 3-2 at home to Erpingham Reserves in the Knights Trophies Division Three it means that the promotion issues are settled, Plumstead Rangers are Champions with Glaven Valley being runners up.
Holt Colts and Worstead Reserves currently head their groups having completed their fixtures but Coltishall Reserves need to win their final game by seven goals if they are to claim a place in the final, likewise in the other section Plumstead Rangers also have to go on a scoring spree at Erpingham Reserves where the winning margin needs to be at least eight if they are to deprive Worstead.
